Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

On your first day, arrive at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. After a transfer to your hotel for check-in and freshening up, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Spend the afternoon exploring Addis Ababa with visits to the National Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, and Entoto Hills. In the evening, dine at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant featuring a cultural dance show. Overnight stay will be in Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Addis Ababa to Harar

Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel, then take an early morning flight from Addis Ababa to Dire Dawa, the closest airport to Harar. Upon arrival, transfer from Dire Dawa to Harar, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive. Check-in at your hotel in Harar, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, start your city tour of Harar by exploring the Harar Jugol, the old walled city. Spend the evening visiting the House of Arthur Rimbaud, and have dinner at either the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight stay will be in Harar.

Day 3: Harar Exploration

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Harar market, known for its vibrant and diverse atmosphere. Then, explore the Harar Brewery, one of the oldest in Ethiopia. Have lunch at a local restaurant, and in the afternoon, visit the tomb of Sheikh Abadir, the patron saint of Harar. Continue your tour with stops at the Harari Museum and traditional Harari houses. In the evening, experience the unique Hyena feeding ceremony, followed by dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant. Overnight stay will be in Harar.

Day 4: Surrounding Areas of Harar

Start the day with breakfast at the hotel before heading out on an excursion to the Babile Elephant Sanctuary, if time permits and considering the season. Enjoy a picnic lunch during the excursion. Return to Harar in the afternoon for further exploration or relaxation. Have dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant, and spend the night in Harar.

Day 5: Harar to Addis Ababa

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing in Harar. Mid-morning, transfer from Harar to Dire Dawa for your flight back to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the Merkato, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant before transferring to Bole International Airport for your departure.
